First Permaculture Design Certification of the Caribean

Dear Student,

From November 22 to December 07. The First International Certification of the Caribbean,
in Sustainable Living Design and Permaculture is about to arrive!

We are very excited of you taking part in this extraordinary experience!

Live in community with your fellow students in the U Najil Ek Balam Cabins at Yucatán Peninsula, México (20°53’34”N, 88°08’31”O) for two weeks. Develop a self sustainable project, enjoy a delicious veggie menu and restoring “Temascales”.

And the cherry on the cake, Earn your International Certification in Self sustainable Design and Permaculture upon attending all sessions of this class and completing the final design project. Start your Designer Practice in Sustainability!

Our Certification consists of a 100 Class hours, between Theory and Practices, and is based in the original 72 hours certification course developed by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. Our program includes 28 extra hours with material that in our experience is essential to make the transition into Permacultural living. As well as visits to the Ek Balam archeological site and Xcanché cenote (underground pond).

In class we focus on Areas such as:

Principles and Ethics of Permaculture, Design, Appropriate Technology, Natural Building, Communities, Ancestrality and Spirituality, Sustainable Economy, Ecovillages, Ecocenter and Ecohoods.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

CLAUDIO MADAUNE

Claudio has completed advanced studies in Geography in Chile and France. He has studied various subjects in Permaculture Norway ,USA and Chile. He is a founding member of the Darién Foundation, He has lived for 8 years at the Sasardí Integrated Reserve located in the Darien rainforest (Colombia),
He has been the representative for the northern part of South America at the Executive Council of ENA (Ecovillages Network of the Americas) between 1999 and 2003, at present he is chairman of the ENA advisory committee and member of the Norwegian NGO, Change the World.
He has lived for 2 years at the Hurdalsjøen Økolandsby, the first ecovillage in Norway, and has moved since may 2007 to Foldsæ Education Center in Fyresdal, Telemark, where he is in charge of the development of the project “Fiskevollen, Inspiration Center for Sustainable Development”, and participate as well in the creation of another ecovillage on the norwegian mountains of Telemark.

MARIA ROS

She is a Wardrobe and Set designer, Bioenergetics and Body Psichotherapist, and Permaculture Designer having studied in Bolivia and the United States. She has studied some Permaculture specialties in France and México. She is the Mexican representative of The Latin-American Institute of Permaculture, She is the Director of Ecodanza TM,President of Ecoaldea Gratitud A.C.and co-director of Casa Sanarte. Her main interest is to get Human beings and Nature´s needs together in order to create new ways of looking at Natural sanctuaries and human settlements, that´s why, She has been marring permaculture and human development and developing educational programs for all ages for the last 15 years, and for the last 6 years, the Yucatán peninsula has been the place in which She has been creating permacultural and emotional-developed communities...

CHRISTOPHER NESBITT

Has farmed in Belize for over 20 years. He has worked in agroforestry and cacao for much of the last 20 years and serves on the board of directors of Maya Mountain Research Farm, and is the on site manager. He also designs and installs renewable energy systems in rural areas, marine protected areas and designs and installs photovoltaic pumping systems.

Nuestra Certificación, comprende 100 horas de Clases, entre Teoría y Práctica, y está basado en el Curso de Certificación original de 72 horas desarrollado por Bill Mollison y David Holmgren, nuestro programa adiciona 28 horas en temas que, en nuestra experiencia, son indispensables para la transición a la vida Permacultural. Además de Visitas a la zona arqueológica de Ek Balam y al cenote Xcanché.

Dentro de las clases nos enfocamos en Áreas como:

ACERCA DE NUESTROS INSTRUCTORES

CLAUDIO MADAUNE

Geógrafo estudiado en Chile y Francia, ha estudiado diversas especialidades en Permacultura en Noruega, Estados Unidos y Chile.
Integrante por cerca de 10 años en la Reserva Integral y Ecoaldea Sasardí, localizada en la selva del Darién.
Ha sido el representante para la región norte de Sud América en el Consejo Ejecutivo de ENA (Red de Ecoaldeas de las Américas) entre 1999 y 2003. Actualmente encabeza el comité asesor de ENA.
En la actualidad es miembro directivo de la ONG Change the World en Noruega, Coordinador de el Centro Vivo de Aprendizaje en Oslo, donde se imparten diversos cursos relacionados con temas multiculturales y ambientales.
Esta a cargo de la creación del Centro de Inspiración para el Desarrollo Sustentable Fiskevollen, en el municipio de Fyresdal, Telemark, Noruega.

MARIA ROS

Diseñadora de Asentamientos Humanos Autosustentables (Ecoaldeas) y Permacultura. Certificada en Bolivia y EUA. Ha tomado diversas especialidades en Permacultura en Francia y México.
Con licenciaturas en: Psicoterapia Corporal Humanista, y en Escenografía y Vestuario.
Representante en México del Instituto Latinoamericano de Permacultura, Directora de Ecodanza®, Presidente de Ecoaldea Gratitud A.C. , miembro de Next GEN, de la Red PERLA y Co-Directora de Casa Sanarte. Su principal interés es el Desarrollo Humano y la “Psicología” de la Naturaleza, por lo cual ha promovido durante años nuevas maneras de crear santuarios humanos para la naturaleza, y con esto en mente a creado metodologías terapéuticas y de enseñanza para todas las edades durante los últimos quince años.
Actualmente desarrolla e integra a la Permacultura, su metodología de la –Ecología Interna- y trabaja en la península de Yucatán desde hace 6 años creando desarrollo sustentable emocional y permaculturalmente hablando.

CHRISTOPHER NESBITT

Se ha dedicado a la agricultura en Belice por más de 30 años. Ha trabajado en Agrosilvicultura y cultivo de cacao durante los últimos 20 años. Es miembro de la mesa directiva de la granja de investigación autosustentable Maya Mountain Research Farm, y es el Director in situ.
Diseña e instala sistemas de energía renovable en áreas rurales y reservas ecológicas marinas. Diseña e instala sistemas de bombeo fotovoltaicos.
